Leon is a chain of ‘naturally fast food’ restaurants operating within the UK. John Vincent (Leon CEO) engaged ecc in 2014 with the aim of updating their aging systems and ecc were given the remit of transforming IT at Leon and aligning with John’s strategy; “At Leon we strive to provide employees with robust technology so that they can make the customer the focus of their attention.

Our approach

ecc started by getting to understand the Leon business and how technology is used on a day to day basis in head office and in their restaurants. We spoke to lots of Leon employees in all different parts of the business. This allowed us to build a rich picture of how ecc could help Leon. We were interested in the business challenges employees faced in their day to day roles.

We went onto roll out new IT infrastructure focussing on giving employees tools which enabled them to do their jobs more effectively. We updated head office level systems and software. We then went onto update the technology employees were personally using such as laptops.

We changed the way in which Leon accessed IT support by offering a centralised helpdesk from our offices in North London. This allowed them to feel confident that if there are any issues ecc are just at the end of the phone.

giraffe Restaurant - Hospitality


giraffe is a chain of family friendly restaurants located throughout the UK. ecc started working with them in 2008 at a time where their IT infrastructure had become both cumbersome, expensive, and, very top heavy.

ecc had a remit to strip out everything that was not business essential, whilst ensuring a robust and enduring infrastructure which would support growth for giraffe.

Streamlining IT

ecc took some time to understand the giraffe business, and how technology supported staff in their daily roles. The output of that analysis was a simplified design which would act as a restaurant IT blueprint.

ecc migrated all restaurants in the chain to the new leaner, and more cost effective design – cost savings of more than 30% were realised.

ecc went onto support and maintain IT for giraffe, and, this continued as the business grew from 13 to more than 60 restaurants.

Feng Sushi

Feng Sushi - Hospitality


ecc began working with Feng Sushi at the beginning of 2015. Feng Sushi is a chain of sushi restaurants operating a delivery service across London.

ecc were brought in by the CEO, Paul Viner, to formalise their IT infrastructure and provide IT project management services.

Ongoing Maintenance

ecc have been responsible for designing, and seamlessly implementing, all aspects of IT and telecoms into new and existing sites. This work included attention to cost efficiency for Feng Sushi, both in terms of implementation and ongoing maintenance.

ecc act as an in-house IT team for Feng Sushi, and provide a help desk with trained engineers who are on hand to answer any IT queries or issues which may arise.
